If you are flying from abroad, most likely you will arrive in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. From there, you will have to change flights to get to San Carlos de Bariloche (BAR), which is about 1500km from Buenos Aires.
Buenos Aires has two airports: Ezeiza Ministro Pistarini (EZE) and Aeroparque Internacional Jorge Newbery (AEP). Your flight will most likely arrive to EZE, which concentrates most of the international flights. To get to Bariloche, you can either take your flight from EZE or from AEP. Keep in mind that most flights from Buenos Aires to Bariloche will leave from AEP, so if you do not want to wait for a long time until your next flight, you may have to change airports. You can do it either by car (you can take taxi, Uber or Cabify) or by bus (the bus transfer is called Tienda Leon), and it will take you about 1h by taxi to get from one airport to another. So, we recommend a layover of minimum 4hs between your flights if you plan to change airports, to be on the safe side, due to potential delays in the flight, the commuting time and the fact that you will have to collect your luggage and go through passport control in EZE.
EZE is located outside of the city, while AEP is located in the city center. So, if you plan to visit Buenos Aires during your trip, we recommend arriving to EZE, spending one or a few nights in Buenos Aires, and then flying from there to Bariloche. Or even better, if you can, spend one or more nights in Buenos Aires when you arrive and before departing, this will make your trip easier.
